 | RAMON "BONG" REVILLA JR. | |
Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was born Jose Marie Mortel Bautista on September 25, 1966. He is married to actress and environmentalist, Ms. Lani Mercado-Revilla. Their marriage has blessed them with six (6) healthy joyful children namely: Leonard Bryan, Jose Lorenzo, Inah Felicia, Ma. Viktoria Gianna, Ma. Franzel Loudette and Ramon Vincent. He was granted his first Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Public Administration from the Cavite State University in 2005. He was again awarded with his second Doctorate Degree, a PhD in Humanities (Honoris Causa) from the Nueva Vizcaya State University in 2006 for his exemplary contribution to the world of culture and arts. AS AN ADMIRED ACTOR As a child, he always wanted to become an action star like his father, Ramon Revilla Sr. – the original “Agimat.” He eventually succeeded in his craft as an actor through hard work and perseverance. He has won numerous acting awards; his most memorable one was at the 1994 FAMAS Awards where he won “Best Actor” for his performance in “Relaks ka lang, Sagot Kita.” Apart from various other accolades, most of his movies were box office hits. In his television sitcom “Idol ko si Kap,” through the lovable and funny, yet strong willed and service-oriented Kapitan Meong, he was able to institutionalize the significance of public service delivery from the very basic unit of government- the barangay. He later delved into being undercover cop Abel in the TV sitcom “Hokus Pokus” and at present, he informs us about fascinating facts and unfolding real life stories in the new TV show “Kap’s Amazing Stories.” During the 2005 Metro Manila Film Festival, his movie “Exodus” was a major breakthrough, bagging eight major awards. It introduced advanced digital and technological widescreen effects which were firsts in local Philippine Cinema. The Festival’s 2007 entry, “Resiklo,” further enhanced the artistic and technological capabilities of Philippine movie-making when it utilized state-of-the-art computer generated images (CGI), earning it an A Rating by the Cinema Evaluation Board and the Best Picture Award at the 2007 MMFF Awards night. Ramon “Bong” Revilla has a highly successful movie career and a wonderful family who constantly help each other in times of trials. He had nothing else to ask for in life until his father became a Senator of the Republic of the Philippines in 1992. AS A PUBLIC SERVANT OF CAVITE His esteemed father, former Senator and present Philippine Reclamation Authority (PEA) Chairman, greatly influenced and molded Senator Bong into a man of service. He was already exposed to public service even before he joined the government in 1995. He imbibed the culture of serving the people and has brought these into the forefront of his public service career. His first foray into the political arena was the position of Vice Governor of the Province of Cavite. He was Chairman of Task Force Bantay Likas Yaman and the Cavite Multi-Agency Anti-Drug Council (CMAC), which led to the biggest drug haul and apprehension in the Philippines. Due to this, he earned the Medal of Valor and the International Award of Honor given by the International Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association in Albany, New York, USA in 1999. His “reel” character served him well in his “real life” role as Vice Governor. When he was at the helm of this historic Province of Cavite as its Governor, Senator Bong successfully gave the province a new face by transforming its image from being a notorious murder capital to one of the most peaceful provinces in the country. He was cited by various organizations for these efforts which earned him numerous recognitions as “Most Outstanding Governor.” During his term, he was able to establish the Cavite Rescue 161 and the Cavite Computer Center in Imus, Cavite, giving immediate response and preference to the needs of the people of the province. He was also able to present the Proposed Conceptual Provincial Development Plan of Cavite which he proudly called Vision 2020. AS A WARRIOR AGAINST PIRACY After his term as Governor of Cavite, he was appointed Chairman of the Videogram Regulatory Board (VRB), wherein he furiously fought video and music piracy and left no stones unturned in running after syndicates and individuals involved in this illegal trade. Under his leadership, the VRB was able to conduct 3,480 major operations composed of 5,250 routine inspections throughout the country which delivered over 5 Billion pesos worth of goods seized. Moreso, VRB successfully convicted 21 optical disc pirates, 2 videotape pirates and 5 large-scale distributors and retailers, during his time. This earned him the distinction of being the only individual to be accorded an international recognition by the Motion Pictures Association of America in Hollywood, USA. These accomplishments, coupled with his distinguished mark as an icon of the local movie industry, catapulted him to the August chamber of the Senate. He won overwhelmingly during the last 2004 national elections. AS A FILIPINO LEGISLATOR Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr.’s mission at the VRB did not stop when he left the organization, as he was Chairman of the Committee on Public Information and Mass Media, and the Co-Chairman of the Congressional Oversight Committee on the Optical Media Board during the Philippine Senate’s 13th Congress. He vowed to uplift and help the almost dying movie industry and to implement a more aggressive stance against optical media piracy. He is currently the Chairman of two major Committees: Committee on Public Works where he is in deep neck working to rid the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of irregularities and to ensure the delivery of services by the DPWH which the public rightfully deserves; and the Committee on Public Services, which looks into the state and circumstances prevailing within institutions, agencies and corporations which deliver public service. Due to sheer determination and hard work, the Senator was able to sponsor 16 public works bills passed under his Committee in the 13th Congress. During the 14th Congress, four franchise bills and 24 public works bills were already passed into law. At present, the Senator also handles the Congressional Oversight Committee on Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. Senator Bong has also looked into the welfare of motorcycle riders and became its foremost advocate on safety riding when he filed the Mandatory Helmet Bill and the Kids-Off Motorcycle Bill. He critically delved into the grim situation of the movie industry when he filed a bill and rallied for its passing when he called for a reduction on gross sales to 10%, ceiling from 30% in amusement taxes nationwide. He has also co-authored and co-sponsored several major bills including the Magna Carta for Women, Cheaper Medicines Act, Juvenile Justice Act, and UP Charter Act. Young and restless, ideal and zealous, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. is just at the beginning of a meaningful career that shall guarantee greater public service and excellence.

- LAKAS-CMD WILL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH GOVERMENT
13 May 2012
In the face of the forthcoming 2013 elections, formidable party Lakas ng Tao-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) will continue to be a critical partner in national development while seeking for the senatorial candidates that it will endorse.
This was assured by Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr, reinstalled president of the party and newly-elected chairman of its Council of Leaders, pointing out that Lakas-CMD does not act as a party with an opposing view but as actual partners in any administration’s efforts to socio-economic development.
According to the senator, Lakas-CMD will maintain its ideals as partners in good governance. “Even when we are not the ruling party, LAKAS-CMD continues to pursue its advocacies, which is primarily to empower the Filipino people. We always act as partners of the government in nation-building,’ he pointed out
LAKAS-CMD, which carries on its status as a party to reckon with in the Philippines’ political arena, conducted last Friday its executive committee and national council meeting to further strengthen the organization and its ranks. During the well-attended meeting , Revilla was unanimously chosen as chairman of its newly-created Council of Leaders and was also given the blanket authority to name people to the council.
A resolution was also adopted during the assembly that reverted the original name of the party. “Kampi is no longer with Lakas-CMD. Since last year, Kampi is already NUP. Right now, our party is not seeking any coalition. But definitely we will endorse any senatorial candidate who we think would be of help to our country,” explained Revilla, adding that they will soon visit its members around the country to consult them to determine the senatorial candidates that they want the party to support in 2013..
The lawmaker stressed that the recent meeting, which was attended by numerous congressmen, governors, mayors and other local officials, evidently puts to rest malicious claims that the party is politically dead. “Subok na ang LAKAS-CMD sa tibay. Pinanday na ito ng panahon. We have an irrefutable track record. “
He also expressed certainty that the party’s endorsement of any senatorial candidate will translate into a minimum of four million votes. “We will go around the country to personally campaign for the senatorial candidates that LAKAS-CMD will support. Our backing is not verbal but actual. We will be side by side with them in the provinces,” said Revilla, who is the number 1 senator in the 2011 elections, gathering 19, 414, 795 million votes which is far more than the votes got by President Benigno Aquino III.
Aside from its senate bets, Revilla also vowed that LAKAS-CMD will fully support its local candidates,” We will join them not only in spirit. They will feel the presence of LAKAS-CMD in their campaign. We will make sure that they will win.”
- SENATOR RAMON BONG REVILLA, JR. HEADS LAKAS COUNCIL OF LEADERS
11 May 2012
LAKAS Party President, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. was unanimously elected as Chairman of the party’s Council of Advisers during their executive committee and national council meeting held today at the Diamond Hotel.
Revilla is given the blanket authority to name the composition of the council.
During the council meeting, a resolution was adopted reverting the original name of the party – Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD).
In his keynote speech, Revilla noted that the strengths of the party are its members’ loyalty and commitment.
The lawmaker stressed that LAKAS continues to pursue its ideals even when it is not the ruling party. “We are not a party which exists only for political rhetoric motherhood statements, and election propaganda, but a party with a vibrant tradition of nation building and genuine services to the Filipino people. Walang administrasyon, walang oposisyon, lahat para sa bayan,” he pointed out.
Revilla assured his party mates his full support whatever circumstances may bring.
- BONG REVILLA DENOUNCES POOR PROCEDURES AND MEASURES AT NAIA
08 May 2012
In the wake of recent brawling incident involving tri-media commentator Ramon Tulfo and celebrity couple Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto, Congressional Oversight Committee on the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (COCAAP) Chairman Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. today lambasted the laxity at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), as well as the apparent poor service of the country’s airline companies.
According to the senator, the controversial scuffle bared how slack the security measures inside NAIA which justifies the downgrade status given by US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the blacklisting of the European Aviation. He specifically cited the non-operational CCTV camera in the baggage carousel area of the NAIA Terminal 3 and the airport security personnel’s mishandling of the incident. “Both parties could have been pacified and there could have been no injuries if only the airport security personnel acted promptly and properly. What made it worse is the non-functional CCTV camera that could have helped determine who made the first violent move,” said Revilla.
The lawmaker also expressed dismay over the series of blunders of airline companies which include cancellation and delaying of flights, overbooking and off-loaded luggage. He disclosed that he himself experienced the disorderly procedures of a local airline company when he went recently to Boracay to speak in the convention of the Confederation of Non-Stock Savings and Loan Associations, Inc. (CONSLA).
Revilla, who is also the chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Services said he will monitor the actions being undertaken by CAAP to address the slip-ups of the airline companies and the NAIA management. “If we really want to boost tourism in our country, we must find ways to improve the services of our airline companies and the security measures inside our airports. There must be proper procedures in handling troubled airline passengers.
- No alliance with UNA - LAKAS
27 April 2012
LAKAS-CMD spokesperson Atty. Raul Lambino today clarified reports that the party has decided to support the senatorial lineup of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of Vice President Jejomar Binay and former President Joseph Estrada in next year’s midterm election.
"While there are proposals from party members to coalesce with UNA for the 2013 polls, they remain just that, mere proposals," Lambino said. "There are also proposals to support the lineup of other parties, or to even choose from the various slates the candidates LAKAS will be campaigning for," he added.
Lambino stressed that the decision of the party remains to be made and finalized during LAKAS' National Council meeting which will be held sometime in May, where he said the various proposals will be lengthily discussed and weighed.
The party's spokesman also denied reports that Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, wife of LAKAS President Senator Bong Revilla, will be running for the Senate next year. "It is clear that Cong. Lani and the Revilla family has not expressed any intention to join any senatorial slate for the 2013 elections. As far as I know, they have not even entertained such a thought," said Lambino.
"On the other hand, what has already been decided upon is to push for the candidacy of Rep. Mitos Magsaysay for the Senate. We will go all out to support her bid," he ended.
- LAKAS A FORCE TO RECKON WITH
10 April 2012
Lakas President Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. brushed aside Vice President Binay’s claims that the dominant minority party is a spent force, much less politically dead.
“The next elections is still over a year away and while there are already feelers being sent seeking the party’s support, we do not want to focus our efforts there this early. Instead of following what other political parties are doing now, our party, through our members who are incumbent officials, would rather spend our energies on serving the constituency and addressing their more immediate concerns.”
Citing the work ethic of previous party leaders, Revilla asserted that Lakas banks on the trust and confidence of voters who they serve and not on publicity and political gimmickry.
According to Revilla, it is clear that Lakas is being underestimated. He pointed out that the real strength of a political party is its grassroots membership, the quality of its incumbent members on ground, coupled with the support of recognized leaders and Senior Statesmen. “Ultimately, the party that has the most number of performing incumbent officials is the strongest political party.”
“Lakas is not CGMA alone. There is more to the party. We are a principled political party with Christian-Muslim Democratic ideals.”
“We enjoy the full support of former President Fidel V. Ramos and the party’s founding members, coupled with a substantial number of congressmen, governors, board members, mayors, and councilors.”
“Moreover, the presidents and officials of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines, the Philippine Councilors League, and the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas are either members of Lakas or were actively supported and campaigned for by Lakas in their respective bids.”
Revilla ended that come 2013, Lakas will be supporting senatorial candidates that will be consistent with the party’s goals, adding that they are open to discussions with groups who will seek the party’s support.
- Statement on Cong. Manny Pacquiao and the BIR
29 March 2012
“This is not the way to treat someone who we all consider as a contemporary hero that has brought great honor and pride to the country. Every time Manny steps into the ring, he carries on his shoulders the name and honor of the nation. Every punch he delivers and takes is not for himself alone but also for the Filipino people.”
“Let us not forget what he has done for the Philippines.”
"While I completely understand that it is the job of the BIR to ensure the proper collection of taxes, I am certain it is not part of their job description to shame people publicly and make circuses out of their circumstances.
“If the BIR is certain that Manny committed an error, then just take the necessary actions and file the necessary charges. Bakit kailangan pang i-anunsiyo sa mga peryodiko?”
“I hope Manny is not distracted from his preparations for his upcoming fight in June.”
“My advice to Manny, take all these with a grain of salt.
- BACOOR, IMUS: A STEP CLOSER TO CITYHOOD
After years of waiting, the municipalities of Bacoor and Imus in Cavite Province are only a step away into its cityhood after the Bicameral Conference Committee approved the legislative proposals for its conversion into a component city.
During its meeting held last Wednesday (February 1) at the Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza, the Bicameral Conference Committee on the cityhood of Bacoor and Imus, jointly chaired by Senator Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos, Jr. and Negros Oriental 2nd District Rep. George Arnaiz, passed the related bills filed in the Senate and House of Representatives with the adoption of all proposed amendments. Among the amendments accepted by the committee for the cityhood of Bacoor is the deletion of assistant positions to the Officials of the City such as assistant city treasurer, assistant city assessor and assistant city health officer.
Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. expressed elation to the smooth approval of the cityhood of Bacoor and Imus in the Bicameral Conference Committee. Ganoon din sa pagiging lungsod ng Imus, dahil ako ay tubong-Imus, at lumaki naman sa Bacoor,” author of Senate version of the bill aimed to convert Bacoor into a component city to be known as City of Bacoor .
The Bicameral Conference Committee will set the presentation of the consolidated cityhood bills to the Plenary. As soon as it becomes a law, a plebiscite will be conducted in Bacoor and Imus upon the ratification of its creation into component cities by a majority of the votes casts by the qualified voters.
Bong Revilla stressed that both municipalities deserve conversion into a component city because it had met the necessary requirements under the Local Government Code, particularly income wise. “In 1997 and 2000, Bacoor registered the highest average family income in the entire Cavite Province .
Under Republic Act 9009, the law that amended Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991, a municipality or a cluster of barangays may be converted into a component city if it has a locally generated average annual income, as certified by the Department of Finance (DOF), of at least One hundred million pesos (P100,000,000.00) for the last two (2) consecutive years based on 2000 constant prices, and any of the two requisites: a) Contiguous territory of at least one hundred (100) square kilometers, as certified by the Land Management Bureau (LMB). b) Population of not less than one hundred fifty thousand (150,000) inhabitants, as certified by the National Statistics Office (NSO).
“In the 2007 Census of Population, Bacoor already registered a population of 441,197, making it the most populous municipality in the country; more than enough to meet the population requirement set by our law. Imus also has a NSO- certified population of not less than one hundred fifty thousand . So, I do not see any hindrance for its cityhood,” Bong Revilla added.
- MANIFESTATION OF SENATOR RAMON BONG REVILLA, JR.
30 January 2012
I am just a bit worried finding out that the prosecution intends to present around 100 witnesses aside from the voluminous pieces of documentary evidence they are planning to to present.
Without trampling on the prosecution’s right to present their evidence and the respondent’s right to establish the best defense, baka maaring tingnan natin ang listahan ng kanilang mga testigo at ebidensiya to determine kung ang lahat ng ito ay kailangan o ang iba ay yung tinatawag na corroborative na lamang.
We are going at a rate of just one witness per day on the average, at kung matutuloy ang ganitong takbo, mukhang magtatagal pa tayo rito – baka abutin na tayo ng isa taong.
[We are spending time and resources that could be spent on other equally important activities.
Nung umpisa, we were led to believe that the prosecution would be finished presenting their case in 3 weeks, pero mukhang imposible na yan. Three weeks na tayo ngayong linggo at hindi pa tayo natatapos sa isang Article. After this Article, may pito pa.
We are all looking for the truth so let us bring out the truth.
Thank you Mr. President.
- BONG REVILLA SLAMS DBM REPORT
04 January 2012
Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. today slammed the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) report published on its website on January 3, 2012 stating that his office was appropriated and released 210 million pesos in Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
“The report is false,” Bong Revilla stressed. “There was no acquisition of 529 multicabs for Cavite,” explaining that contrary to the website’s data, only 23 multicabs were acquired through his PDAF which amounted only to 5 million and not 115 million. “The report reflected that entry 23 times. Kaya yung 5 million, naging 115 million,” he explained.
“The DBM must clear this. It’s not right that it appears my PDAF was grossly disproportional to those of my colleagues. They should also correct it because the report implied that my PDAF was padded by 110 million pesos,” he stressed. “They should be careful with releasing facts. Inaccuracy on sensitive information can damage people.”
A perusal of the senator’s PDAF appropriations would show that the most number of allocations (P45 million) went to financial and medical assistance throughout the country and not to the acquisition of patrol vehicles as was reported. Other expenditures went to the improvement of vital infrastructures in the country.

We work side-by-side with Regular employees (most commonly with the same amount of work load) yet we are receive very minimal pay without benefits. Sana po maaddress din ang concern namin. In fairness din po sa amin, all we wanted is a livable wage (para po sa buong pamilyang) to compensate the quality service we offer to the public. salamat po. |

jsg100173 wrote on Aug 10, '11, edited on Aug 10, '11 Good morning po sa inyo Sen. MARAMING SALAMAT PO AND GOD BLESS YOU.

Last June, after being ultrasound, we found out na may problema si baby sa tiyan ni misis. Omphalocele po si baby, nakalabas ang portion ng bituka nya sa tiyan nya, as it turned out buong intestine nya ang nakalabas together with the liver. Nang malaman namin na ganun, malungkot kami lahat na pamilya, although the obgyne and some doctor assure us na ok naman sya at maaayos yun with proper medication. Gumagalang, NOLI BOHOL / LUISA BOHOL
